It is wise to be aware of some of the truths and myths surrounding recruitment, so that one does not lose sight of the basics of the recruitment process. RECRUITMENT TRUTHS: · There are no perfect candidates and no perfect jobs.· There are no ‘best’ or ‘right’ candidates, only the most contributive. · There are only 3 reasons why people are employed:
-to increase the revenue of the company. · True recruitment expertise is earned, not attributed. · Whether to employ or not to employ a person is the most important decision an employer can make, as it affects the life of the candidate and the profitability of the organisation. · Salaries / wages is the largest expense in any business. · The actual cost of a new employee to a company in the first year is roughly twice the employee’s basic annual salary. * · What you don’t know can hurt you. · Companies are only as good as their staff.
SOME RECRUITMENT MYTHS: · The higher the agency fee, the better the service.· The larger the agency, the better the service. · The more CV’s an agency sends to an employer, the greater the chances of one being successful.
