Training Life Skills Crystallize your goals (Youths Vision into the Future) Series

Crystallize your goals (Youths Vision into the Future) Series
Written by Isaac Khonjelwayo

To crystallize a goal or dream is to visualize it and see it in the eyes if your mind anytime when you choose to close your eyes. Some people call it imagination. To use imagination to crystallize a goal is another principle you should apply in order to convince yourself that it is not only possible, but it is in your power and the realm of possibility to see it come to pass.

Imagination is the most powerful tool of the human mind; few people utilize it to its full capacity to work in their favour.

There is a story of a South African black political prisoner, poet and painter who went to jail and was deprived access to read the newspaper or get visitation from family or friends, he was placed in solitary confinement. The powers that be thought he was dangerous and too influential to be around other criminal minded prisoners.

During the day prison officials would hear him sing and rejoice in his cell. He seemed more happy and healthier than the rest of the other prisoners who were in for petty crimes. When they served him food in the afternoon by the prison warder, they asked him why he was so happy and jovial, he said “Most people are as free as their minds can detain them or as imprisoned as their spirit can disallow them to contain it. If every man was born with wings on his mind to fly, how come few are willing to pay the price to take off to the skies?”

The prison ward was puzzled and amazed at the thought of this man’s answer, in dismay he sighed with relief by that utterance. The moral of the story is that you can detain a person any which way you want, but if you cannot control or own his mind or imagination you have not benefited in making him a slave of your illusion. Six months later they released him from jail. When asked how he coped inside jail and in isolation, he said “I used my imagination to travel to places I know and wanted to see in the eyes of my mind everything was free I did not have to pay for transport too”.

To crystallize a goal is to imagine is has already happened, one of my close friends Chris calls it “Telling the truth in advance” it is a self-fulfilling prophecy to assume through your positive thinking ability, you will be able to see it realized. This process I have explained is a more simplified than meets the eye, there is more to it in the initial stages of preparation and writing and keeping a professional “journal” of goals. A personal plan of action is based on individual personal goals, therefore your thoughts should be written on paper and commitment to a deadline in order to reach its destination.

Writing your goal or dream is a way to crystallize your thoughts or imagination. Somehow the principles of positive think claim that, when you write something down your mind and body sub-consciously works in unison with your thoughts to condition your body to help you work towards its realization. “as you thinketh- so you become” this is a biblical phrase that confirms this philosophy of thinking and application of goal planning.
